Honoring the Mothers of Fallen Law Enforcement Officers
Our Mission
A Mother’s Heroic Heart Quilt is a 501(c)(3) public charity established in April 2021. The mission of this project is to honor the mothers of fallen law enforcement officers, who died in the line of duty, by presenting them with a personalized memorial quilt.
About Us
In 2014, after attending memorial activities honoring her fallen officer son, Sheri, a quilter herself, designed a memorial quilt in his honor. She wanted to share the comfort she received from the quilt with other grieving mothers of fallen officers. Sheri then founded a nonprofit to meet this goal.
Sandy and many other quilters, most of whom are in the law enforcement family in one way or another, participated in creating the memorial quilts with Sheri.
In 2020, this brave and dedicated mom decided to scale down her project to sew for only her state. Sandy then founded a nonprofit with the same mission. Many of the volunteer quilters seized the opportunity to support this new nonprofit. Sheri graciously gave her permission for A Mother’s Heroic Heart Quilt to use her quilt pattern for this purpose.
